Action 52

Avatar

Ok, here's a question. what game is known to be considered the most ridiculously expensive nes game, and yet it's a total waste of money and time. i'm talking about Active Enterprises' Action 52. that's right. and despite the fact that it's 15 years old. it was and still is an embarassment to nintendo games everywhere. here's my review for action 52.

--Gameplay--
I'll be honest, it's not good at all. to start, the 52 games are poorly programmed and have their share of bugs per game. even worse, half of the games crash during some games.

--Controls--
here's where it depends on the game. the controls can vary from simple to just unresponsive. and in the hard to control games, it's impossible to do something without worrying about breaking the controller.

--sounds--
the sounds are really annoying the only exception is the intro which samples the 1988 Rob Base hit: "It Takes Two". that's the only thing that's good in action 52. but after the intro's done. you're better off muting the tv.

--Graphics--
like the game's programming, the game's graphics are poorly drawn, and most of them are really bland and leave nothing to the imagination.

--Overall--
With all the flaws in this game, you might ask yourself what could've made this worse. here's a clue: having a competition for one of the games that has the misfortune of crashing halfway through the game. and yes, it did happen. talk about a class action fraud lawsuit waiting to happen. to conclude this review. if there is one thing about this game i can say that's acceptable, it would be these 3 words: Just Stay Away.
