Here's where you can download the most popular emulators, the software that runs the ROMs. All emulators listed here for for Windows operating system unless otherwise noted. Each emulator is freeware and contains no virus, adware, or spyware. Here at Emucation.com we focus more on the games and community, we don't specialize in emulators. Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) Emulators

Virtua NES

This is an English translation of a Japanese NES emulator. It has good game compatibility and many extra features.

Super Entertainment System (SNES) Emulators

ZSNES

This is the fastest SNES emulator with the highest compatibility. Overall its regarded as the best SNES emulator available. But, some people dislike its clunky, non-standard, and sometimes confusing interface.

Snes9x

While it has slightly lower compatibility than ZSNES this emulator makes up for it with its improved interface. Using a standard program interface it's much more intuitive for the majority of users to use.
